  • Solid State Temperature Controllers

In the mid 1970's we replaced the Linotronic temperature controllers that came on our Elektron Linotype's with West Solid State units that we put together, they worked much better but were quite large compared to the units I use today!

  • Solid State Controller Boxes

Parts List that you will need. I order most of my parts from Grainger or McMaster-Carr, but also get a few from Amazon
    • A Controller or Controllers of your choice.
    • Solid State Relay or Relays of your choice. I like to use 25 amp for a little over kill.
    • A Probe or Probes of your choice. I like to use J-type myself.
    • An enclosure of whatever size you determine you need that will fit your application.
    • A terminal block or terminal blocks of your choice.
    • On/Off switch of your choice. If you want to get fancier you can install some lights. I did on a couple for a customer.
    • Wires to connect it all together, I like using different color wires for the different circuits, makes it easier to trace if you have a problem.
    • Then you can use a few connectors, etc, if you want to get fancy. I do the fancy myself.
    • I have also installed a miniature 7-day timer in a couple for a customer so that the machine will turn on and off at preset times and days.
    • All items above can be sourced for UNDER $400.00 depending on where you find them and what you determine will work the best for you. Prices will vary depending on who has them and what you pick out.
    • Then you have the time involved to put it all together and install it.
    • YOU WILL ALSO NEED SOME ELECTRIC, ELECTRONIC AND MECHANICAL SKILL.
Parts for LUDLOW"S: Shear Pins, Screws, Springs, Belts, Mouthpiece Wipers, Lubricating Oils, Heaters, Mouthpieces, Manuals, Jim Parrish Books Etc.
